This has been bugging me for a while: Genuinely curious what the community thinks. What makes the hinge dating app the best for "being deleted"? One thing I've noticed is that the user base quality seems to tank once a platform starts pushing hard for monetization. The genuine people leave and the bots and scammers fill the gap. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

Okay so I went through this whole process about six months ago, here's what I learned: Profile photos are still the single biggest factor. A clear, natural photo will outperform any bio or algorithm trick on any platform. Things that actually helped:
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Read Reddit threads about any platform before paying for anything
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
Also hearing turndate.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

This is worth unpacking properly because there's a lot of noise around this topic: Profile photos are still the single biggest factor. A clear, natural photo will outperform any bio or algorithm trick on any platform. I ended up trying Flamedate after seeing it mentioned a few times. No complaints so far.

Spent way too long figuring this out so hopefully this saves you some time: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Also hearing datescout.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

The landscape has shifted a lot in the last couple of years — what worked in 2024 isn't always reliable now.

Good thread — let me share what I've found after testing a few different options: Profile photos are still the single biggest factor. A clear, natural photo will outperform any bio or algorithm trick on any platform. Someone here pointed me toward Datewander and I'm glad they did — better than most of what I'd tried.

Spent way too long figuring this out so hopefully this saves you some time: Scam patterns I've learned to spot: photos that look like modeling headshots, profiles with very sparse detail, any message that quickly steers to a different app, and requests for money or gift cards. Things that actually helped:
  • Read Reddit threads about any platform before paying for anything
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
Also hearing datewander.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Things that actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question works better than a paragraph
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
Also hearing luvdate.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

Agree with what's been said above. The key is knowing what you want going in. I've been on Datenest for a while and it's one of the better ones I've come across.

This is one of those things that changes a lot from city to city and even neighborhood to neighborhood. Seen souldate.site come up in a few threads too — another one to look into.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Things that actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
