First post here but felt like the right place to ask. Where can I find a real dating app free of bots? Appreciate any real experience people can share. Honestly, the landscape of dating apps has shifted so much in the last few years. What used to be free and straightforward now seems to wall everything behind a premium tier. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Rendate — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. Also seeing datedesire.online mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

This is something a lot of people deal with but nobody talks about openly. Good to see it discussed. I've been using Flurrydate and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months. I've been using Datelink and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.
