Okay so this might be a dumb question but I genuinely want to know: Where can I find the best free adult chatrooms for general conversations? Happy to hear all takes. I've seen a lot of different recommendations floating around online but it's hard to know which ones are legit and which are just paid placements.
  • Are the profiles mostly real or bot-heavy?
  • What's the privacy policy situation?
  • How active is the user base in my area?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
Worth mentioning that flurrydate.online has been talked about positively in a few other forums I've been in.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective. Turndate is worth trying if you haven't already.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Bumble, Tinder, Plenty of Fish, Hinge — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
Someone in another thread recommended Datebound and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
A couple friends swear by datebie.online though I think it really depends on your location.
