Are there actual dating apps that don't use engagement bots?

Speaking generally, treating it as a numbers game is the fastest route to burning out — that has been consistent for me across a few different platforms. Are there actual dating apps that don't use engagement bots?

The same platform can be excellent in one city and dead in another — it took me longer than it should have to work that out.

The effort should go into being specific, not into being impressive — it took me longer than it should have to work that out.

  • Kept my expectations for any single conversation deliberately low
  • Easy profile deletion?
  • One thing I notice: a bad week is a bad week, not evidence about the platform — it is the single change that made the most difference.

Results vary a lot and a quiet fortnight means very little — others here may have had a different experience.

Progress is better measured in conversations than in matches — i would not have believed it a year ago. For what it is worth, comparing your results to anyone else's is a losing game — it is the single change that made the most difference. over on Datescout is worth trying if you haven't already. ezhookups.online

Broadly speaking, the slow approach tends to produce better outcomes than the volume one — it sounds obvious written down, but it took a while to land.

From my side, a good photo opens the door but the bio decides what happens next — it is not complicated, it is just easy to skip.

What actually helped:

  • Almost immediately I met in a busy public place for any first meetup regardless of how well it was going
  • I made a point of asked open questions rather than anything answerable with one word
  • After one bad experience I treated any site with no visible moderation policy as a hard pass
  • Every time I put a real question at the end of the bio so replies had a hook

Someone here pointed me toward the Datebie site and I'm glad they did. over on Turndate

Good thread. In my experience, location precision is the setting most people never check — it is not complicated, it is just easy to skip.datelink.online also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

Solid question. From what I have seen, the people posting about success are a tiny and unrepresentative sample — small thing, but it adds up. Flurrydate's free tier also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.
