Posting because I genuinely can't find a straight answer anywhere. Are there any dating apps rated highly for their anti-harassment features? Scam spotting has become a real skill at this point. Professionally lit photos, minimal bio, immediate pivot to another app — those are the patterns I've learned to avoid.
  • Proximity matching that isn't artificially throttled
  • Clear data deletion option
  • Active reporting tools
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Good thread — let me share what I figured out after testing several different options: Profile photos still matter more than anything else. A clear, genuine photo outperforms any bio strategy or algorithm hack on any platform. What actually helped:
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
Also hearing flurrydate.online come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

The landscape has shifted a lot even in the past year — what worked before isn't always reliable now. For the record, Ezhookups has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Went through this process myself recently. It takes longer than expected but it's doable.

Happy to weigh in since I went through almost exactly this situation: I've gone through most of the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating — and they all have actual free tiers, but usability varies wildly. What actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
One platform I'd actually recommend is Datebound — the free tier is genuinely usable and the user base felt real.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. For the record, Datelink has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Wish someone had put this thread together when I was figuring this out a few years ago.
