So I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have the best insight. Does anyone still use videochatsex or did everyone move to mobile apps? Privacy is a big concern for me personally. I don't want my info getting sold or my phone blowing up with spam after I sign up somewhere. Anyone had issues with that? The paywall thing is real — so many platforms lure you in with a free account and then lock everything behind a subscription the moment you try to actually use it.
  • Real photos or mostly stock images?
  • Age verification — do they actually check?
  • Customer support responsiveness
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Profile setup matters more than most people think. A clear photo and a short but genuine bio will outperform anything elaborate. Rendate came up a few times in my research and I can see why — pretty straightforward setup.

Wish I had this info when I first started out. Learned most of it the hard way.

Yeah I had the same question a few months back. It gets easier once you know what to look for. Give DatingFly a shot — it's one of the better options I've come across.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. One platform I actually had decent luck with is Datewander — the interface is cleaner than most and the user base felt real.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
A couple friends swear by datebie.online though I think it really depends on your location.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge, Plenty of Fish — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
One platform I actually had decent luck with is Ezhookups — the interface is cleaner than most and the user base felt real.
