Jumping in here because this has been on my mind for a bit. How do I fix the microphone issues on skibbel chat? Would love to hear from people who've actually tried things out. Privacy is a big concern for me personally. I don't want my info getting sold or my phone blowing up with spam after I sign up somewhere. Anyone had issues with that?
  • Are the profiles mostly real or bot-heavy?
  • How active is the user base in my area?
  • What's the privacy policy situation?
  • Can I report bad actors easily?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
One platform I actually had decent luck with is Flamedate — the interface is cleaner than most and the user base felt real.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Someone in another thread recommended DatingFly and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating, Bumble, Match.com — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Worth mentioning that datescout.site has been talked about positively in a few other forums I've been in.
