Okay so this might be a dumb question but I genuinely want to know: Is online sec chat end-to-end encrypted? Happy to hear all takes. Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do.
  • What's the cancellation policy like?
  • Is there a free tier that's actually usable?
  • Are there verified profiles?
  • Does it require a credit card to browse?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Hinge, Plenty of Fish, Tinder, Bumble — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. I ended up trying Datedesire after the mainstream apps felt too crowded. No complaints so far.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out. Heard good things about luvdate.site from some folks in my area too.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
Someone in another thread recommended Rendate and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

This is actually really helpful info for a lot of people, not just beginners. Datenest is worth trying if you haven't already.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Worth mentioning that flurrydate.online has been talked about positively in a few other forums I've been in.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective. Heard good things about datelink.online from some folks in my area too.

A couple friends swear by rendate.site though I think it really depends on your location.

  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
