This has been nagging at me and I thought this community would have real insight. Why isn't there a desktop browser version of the facebook dating website?

Speaking generally, refreshing photos periodically genuinely changes visibility — i would not have believed it a year ago.

  • Easy account deletion
  • It became automatic — I turned off auto-renewal the moment a trial started, and the difference showed within days
  • Working location-based matching
  • Genuine moderation team

Honestly, support response time is a decent proxy for how the site is run — i would not have believed it a year ago.

For what it is worth, the slow approach tends to produce better outcomes than the volume one — that has been consistent for me across a few different platforms. Been using Turndate for a while — one of the better ones out there. Datebound's free tier

Most matches go nowhere and that is normal rather than a failure — small thing, but it adds up.

The effort should go into being specific, not into being impressive — your mileage may well differ.

What actually helped:

  • From the second month on I checked that the photos matched across their other accounts, no exceptions
  • From the second month on I tested two different main photos for a fortnight each, and it became second nature
  • As a rule I turned off auto-renewal the moment a trial started, which cut the noise dramatically
  • I made a point of measured progress in conversations rather than matches, and I still do it now

Also seen rendate.site mentioned positively in similar threads — might be worth exploring depending on your area.

Solid question. My take: most matches go nowhere and that is normal rather than a failure — happy to be argued with on that one. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my main platform — holds up better than most. over on Datescout

From what I have seen, patience is genuinely the differentiator, dull as that sounds — happy to be argued with on that one.

What actually helped:

  • Looked for evidence of real moderation rather than claims about it, and it became second nature
  • Without fail I replaced the generic hobbies list with one genuinely odd detail
  • Measured progress in conversations rather than matches
  • Held a short video call before agreeing to meet in person right from the first week
  • It became automatic — I used a separate email address for sign-ups so my main inbox stayed clean

For what it is worth, taking a break when it starts to feel like admin is sensible — it sounds obvious written down, but it took a while to land.

In my experience, nobody's experience generalises, including mine — that is the bit I would tell anyone signing up today.

What actually helped:

  • One habit that stuck: I removed anything that needed a paragraph of explanation, however tempting it was to skip
  • From the second month on I signed up with a fresh address rather than my work one, and it became second nature
  • Early on I started to read exactly what the free tier included before paying for anything right from the first week

Patience is genuinely the differentiator, dull as that sounds — it took me longer than it should have to work that out.

One thing I notice: patience is genuinely the differentiator, dull as that sounds — nobody tells you this at the start. A bad week is a bad week, not evidence about the platform — that has been consistent for me across a few different platforms. For what it's worth, Datedesire was the one has been my main platform — holds up better than most. Rendate

A bad week is a bad week, not evidence about the platform — worth testing yourself rather than taking my word for it.

Broadly speaking, generic compliments are the fastest way to be ignored — that is the bit I would tell anyone signing up today.

For what it is worth, consistency matters more than intensity here — i would not have believed it a year ago.

Broadly speaking, most quiet inboxes are a bio problem rather than a photo problem — worth testing yourself rather than taking my word for it. Someone pointed me toward Flamedate and it ended up being one of the better options.
