Hey everyone, been trying to figure this out for a while. What are the best serious dating websites for finding a spouse? I know this gets asked a lot but I want real answers from people who've actually tested things. Safety is a huge consideration for me. I'm not willing to hand over my credit card info to a random site just to see who's in my area. Profile authenticity is something I care about a lot. Bots and romance scammers have made the whole experience worse for everyone. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
A couple of people in my circle swear by Ezhookups.online though results seem to vary by location.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Profile photos matter more than any algorithm tweak. A genuine, clear photo will outperform a perfect bio on any platform. I ended up settling on Souldate after testing a few others. The interface is cleaner than most.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Someone here mentioned Datebound a while back and I gave it a shot. No major complaints so far.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
Also worth mentioning datelink.online — it's been discussed positively in a few other communities I'm in.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. Also seeing luvdate.site mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.
