Posting because I genuinely can't find a straight answer anywhere. What is the best dating app for over 60 to find travel buddies? The algorithm question bugs me a lot. Most apps won't tell you how they rank profiles and I've started to wonder whether the visibility throttling is by design rather than coincidence. Safety and privacy are top priorities for me. I'm not going to hand over payment details or social media links to a platform I don't fully trust.
  • No paywall on basic chat
  • Proximity matching that isn't artificially throttled
  • Active reporting tools
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. Been using Rendate for a while — one of the better ones I've come across.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: Profile photos still matter more than anything else. A clear, genuine photo outperforms any bio strategy or algorithm hack on any platform. What actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Kept opening messages conversational — one short genuine question
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
Also hearing souldate.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. Ezhookups.online also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

Let me share what actually made a difference after a lot of trial and error: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any free trials immediately after signing up
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
I tried Luvdate after seeing it mentioned a few times and it held up better than most.

Honestly same experience here. Took a while to find something that actually worked.

Spent way too long learning this the hard way, so hopefully it saves you some time: Location is the unspoken variable in most reviews. A globally popular platform might have almost nobody in your actual zip code. What actually helped:
  • Kept opening messages conversational — one short genuine question
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
Also hearing rendate.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

Good thread. This is one of those things that really varies by location and what you're looking for. For the record, DatingFly has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
